Thanks for watching the "Franken-Stand" video! This was a great little project and with a few simple tools, you can make your own. Chances are though, if you've ended up here, you've got all the tools you see in this video anyway so here goes:
I have been tempted by a saw of this kind for a long time and I am SO pleased I have finally got one! Before, I was doing all my metal cuts with a cut-off disk in a 4 1/2 inch grinder which works pretty well, but I found it hard to get everything super accurate and working with smaller pieces rather dangerous... All tools can be dangerous if not used properly but you get what I mean. Also the parts I'd cut out were too hot to touch so there's a cooling time or dousing which has to happen after every cut. Not so bueno!
With this saw, (especially now I have this stand) I can make intricate cuts that are cool enough to work with straight away, safely, quickly and confidently.
I have to make a shout out to the creator who inspired this build and his video: Simple Little Life. He made a stand which mounts on the wall, but which connected to the saw in almost the exact same way. I wanted a portable version on a stand so the rest is different, but thank you to Simple Little Life!

This is the first time I've published a voice-over for one of my videos and the first time I've decided to write about the video after the fact. I'd love to continue doing this for people who want more information and I'm planning to release plans for my builds too which will be available on this site.
Without having many production shots of the build, I will end this one here, but please let me know if you'd like to see more like this in the future and I'll make it a regular thing.
